The
season of Easter has past. The 4th
business month is moving along, the
daffodil’s are in full bloom, as is the FVA
calendar. Wow! 2009 is on the move. Events
seem to be going well, however Dave always
has concern for procrastination to move
projects, to reach goals and to keep the
momentum moving. Presidents need to keep
things in line, build and retain FVA
reputation.
The new Duck Man, Tom and the committee are
moving along rather nicely. Tom is literally
moving building to building inquiring about
duck purchases, hoping to meet our goal of
selling 5000 ducks; doing a quack up job!!!
FVA members enjoy giving back to their
community.
The push is on: attend the race. Think
about getting the family out to support the
community events. They are for you, your
family and neighbors. Come one, come all!
Enjoy the FVA festivities. Duck race day is
all about 3 hours of your day. Please show
us you appreciate this wonderful community
event. Community interest inspires FVA to
do more, a full sense of gratitude.
Welcome returning
new faces; Kate
Matthews, Terry Parker and Mary Anne Lupa

invoice absentee membership and eventually

your membership is of great value. Sign up a
new member today. The more the merrier!
A special note of appreciation to those

Beautification:
·
Spring is the one time of year to
motivate property owners to take a look,
evaluate, and notice junk piles, peeling
paint, broken fences, litter and high
bushes. Have pride cleaning up and
beautifying. It has its rewards. Step back
and relish the look.
·
Please remember FVA mission is to
inspire others to clean up. Let FVA
officials know of property that needs
attention. If you need something picked up
for disposal, call Dave at Nuchie’s. We will
take care of it. Most important we want
names of deserving property owners for
beautification recognition.
·
To
beautify the Village of Forestville,
Laurie Wojnarowski of Cozy Bear Daycare
organized a group of individual in home day
care providers and the children in their
care. They planted flowers at the community
sign, flag pole and Gateway sign, in
observance of “Earth Day.” Laurie was
joined by Morgan Mackiewicz, Lucille
Castiglione, Betsy Armitage, Kelly Daniels,
Mary Mathes, Shirley McCarthy and Dorothy
Terrell. It is truly a great way to
introduce our young people, to engage in
their community by doing small acts of
service. Thank you! Thank you, ladies and
the adorable children who worked so hard
beautifying Forestville Center. Everyone
appreciates your efforts.

FVA
Scholarship:
Central High School was the only high
school to forward applications for the
scholarship. Although it was slightly
disappointing that BEHS and St. Paul’s
didn’t take part, Christine did a very
nice job at placement of applications in all
the guidance offices. Perhaps next year
we will advertise the scholarship,
introducing students to FVA. Christine along
with her committee is ready to select this
year’s recipient.
Thank you Christine!
